XTANT 2026 NOMAD
For XTANT 2026, I present two new hand-woven objects under the shared title Nomad: No Sail and No Kimono. Each begins with deep historical research — Viking sail construction from 8th–11th century Scandinavia; Japanese kimono textile logic — and then, deliberately, departs from it. In each object, one panel breaks the system. Not as error. As authorship. The sail cannot sail. The kimono cannot be worn. What travels changes, what hands still reveals.
XTANT 2025 HUACA
No words to describe this yearly craft & art community gathering in Palma, Mallorca. Just thankful to be part of it. XTANT is a tabula rasa, a white canvas, a fresh piece of paper......to bring a new vision and content to a very old trade: heritage textiles. STUDIO STEGE , presented in 2025 'shrouds for life' (levenskleden), drawing on the ancient tradition of ceremonial shrouds. How to weave a last garment with gifts (wool) from the land it returns to. Textiles of love.

Zaterdag 25 november 2023 van 14:00-20:00 uur open ateliers bij Broedplaats Baggerbeest: hèt culturele ankerpunt van de Sluisbuurt-in-wording op Zeeburgereiland. Kunstenaars van het Baggerbeest openen de deuren naar hun atelier en organiseren exposities en art workshops voor volwassenen èn voor kinderen.
